Two Nigerian luxury fashion brands among party hosted by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall

In anticipation for the visit to The Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria by the Prince and Duchess, a party of British West Africans was hosted at the palace.

The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camillaare planning to visit The Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria soon. Ahead of that, their Royal Highnesses hosted a lunchtime reception for British West Africans from areas including media, sport, fashion, the arts, education and charity.

Among the party were members of the British Nigerian, Gambian and Ghanaian communities such as Tinie TempahTemi Otedola and fashion brands Eki Orleans and Nkwo OfficialArieta Who, who coordinated the event and represented Lagos Fashion Week, was also present.

Their Royal Highnesses interacted with the designers who showed the stunning designs and highlighted their works so far. In honour of the start of Heineken Lagos Fashion Week, Arietawho — also showcasing in Lagos this week — also spoke to their highnesses about what the platform is doing in Africa.

According to LFW, the designers represent what the Fashion Week ethos is about. Nkwo's designs are made in Nigeria from end-to-end, with fabrics locally sourced from communities in Northern Nigeria and Eki Orleans' designs are heavily rooted in Africa and celebrate the links between Nigeria and the UK.
