Would you wear high heels made out of 'human skin'? Well for $10,000 they could be yours!

Fecal Matter are the design duo that are shaking up the design industrywith their lifelike shoes. The duo, who have amassed a huge following on Instagram, are known for their other-worldly aesthetic and extreme body modfiication. Would you wear their high heels made out of 'human skin'? Well for $10,000 they could be yours!

The couple, Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran, who are based in Canada, have gained quite the cult following on Instagram thanks to their extreme body modification which transforms them into creatures from a completely different planet.

The two were recently featured in Vogue who wrote:

In the wild world of Instagram, there exists an account that goes by the name of @matieresfecales. Sound très elegant? Well, think again: The handle is the translation for the term “fecal matter,” and it boasts almost 100,000 followers. The concept was created by Montreal-based couple Hannah Rose Dalton (22) and Steven Raj Bhaskaran (24) two years ago, and its visuals are as shocking as its name: Heels of feet are warped into skin-covered scythes by way of prosthetics (the duo have plans to make them into actual shoes). The waists of clothing are heavily nipped and whittled into Victorian-era extremes. Makeup is a freakish fairy tale, or rather a nightmare: In one image, Dalton is made to resemble what could be interpreted as a zombie, complete with totally greened-out eyes and a severed breathing tube stuck in her nostrils. At a quick glance, thanks to the two butterflies plastered on her forehead and the saccharine pastel hues, the image could also strike one a s eerily beautiful. The caption of the photo says, “This is not a costume, this is me,” and that’s not an exaggeration.

Fecal Matter have decided to take their unique aesthetic to the masses. What they are known best for are their bizarre yet fascinating 'Skin Heels' which give the impression of a strangely shaped heeled foot. The brainchild of the daring couple, these choose have been a talking point all over social media.

Before the shoe became a reality, photoshop was used to create it but now, what was once a cool idea has become an even cooler reality. The shoe extends from the thigh and is made out of silicone. It includes lifelike toes, faux moles, uneven skin colour and lifelike hairs.

“Everyone was like, ‘Is it Photoshopped? Is it not Photoshopped?’ We wanted to put it out in real life,” Bhaskaran shared with Wet Paint Life. The heels were created by artist Sarah Sitkin to replicate Dalton’s leg. If you want a slice of the skin heel actio-n however, it won't come cheap. Considering the workmanship tfhat goes into just one pair, it's no surprise that just one pair will be sold for $10,000. So far, only one pair has been created so far but the couple have revealed plans to make more.
