South African Rapper Gigi Lamayne is Bringing to Fans an All-Women Music Show

South African Rapper Gigi Lamayne is Bringing to Fans an All-Women Music Show

The music event will have all-women headline acts and is the first of its kind for South African hip-hop.

Gigi Lamayne is all about showing the male-dominated rap game that women can do it just as well if not better than their male counterparts. That said, she'll be throwing the #GigiGangShowwhich will have only female headline acts taking center stage. Let us tell you, we are so here for it.

The formidable Gigi Lamayne is planning to turn the game upside down. The baddest women in hip-hop who will be headlining the event include RougeNadia NakaiFifi CooperMoozlie, Nokwazi and Mpumi whilst supporting acts will include Manu WoldStarKhuli ChanaReasonKwesta and several others. Special appearances will be made by actresses Khanyi Mbau and Celeste Ntuli.

The rapper is also looking to put on up-and-coming artists for the show with a competition that she's running. Now how's that for opening up the industry?

In a video where Gigi Lamayne speaks about her inspiration, she says:

"They bark and we bite. We excel. We lack fear. We attack outside of the pride and we keep moving. It's almost as if a piece of you has to die before you can actually live...I am a soldier in girl's body. I am the iron lady, inkosazana. I never give in."

The event will take place on the 4th of May in Soweto and tickets can be purchased here

Fans have since been expressing their excitement for #GigiGangShow on social media.
