Lupita Nyong'o Looms Over Her Suspenseful Fate in This New Clip from 'Us'
Watch Lupita's character express her gut-feeling of doom in this new teaser.
We'll soon be squirming in our seats of horror as Jordan Peele's Us premieres in theaters this Friday.
After sustaining a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and a successful world premiere at SXSW, a new teaser from a scene in the film featuring Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke has left us shook.
But first, let's revisit the plot of the film:
'Us' follows Adelaide and Gabe Wilson (Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke) as they take their kids (Shahadi Wright Joseph and Evan Alex) to Adelaide's old childhood beachside home in Northern California for the summer. After a day at the beach with the Tyler family (which includes Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker), Adelaide — who's haunted by a lingering trauma from her past — becomes increasingly more paranoid that something bad will happen to her family. As night falls, the Wilsons see four figures holding hands and standing silently at the bottom of their driveway.
The clip, entitled "Fear," we see Nyong'o's character Adelaide share with her husband Gabe that she's experienced a flux of coincidences during their getaway, Shadow and Act explains. Full of anxiety, Adelaide has a hunch that these coincidences may lead her to come across her scary doppelgänger again. Gabe then reassures his wife that all will be well, though she's apprehensive that he believes her.
Us is due to drop in theaters Friday, March 22.
