Top 10 Nigerian Artists to look out for in 2022.

We all can agree that 2020 hit us with something that no one could have imagined. As the pandemic took over our lives - artists and their art was a ray of hope for us.

However, some underrated Nigerian artists still haven’t gotten their share of fame from people around the world. In this article, we will list Top 10 Nigerian Artists that you need to look out for in 2022.

Bella Shmurda

Bella Shmurda is one of those artists that put Nigerian music on the map in 2020. With his single “ vision 2020” he broke all the barriers of music and was recognized internationally.

However, he still has the potential to make it to the top charts in music if he gets the right platform. They need to look out for him in 2021.

Psycho YP

Psycho YP started his career in high school when he wanted to express his emotion through an art medium. However, the youth in Abuja (where he was born and raised) made him stand out from the rest of the artists because of their love and appreciation for his music.

However, Psycho YP is still unknown around the globe and his music is something that can touch the hearts of millions - all he needs is the right platform to turn the pages of his career around.

Ajebo Hustlers

Ajebo Hustlers is a group of two musicians that started way back but only received appreciation after their recent single about the #EndSars campaign.

However, they have a lot more potential to make more banging music that Gen Z can relate with.

Ayra Starr

Ayra Starr is the true definition of an immediate hit. As soon as her single dropped it was ranked at the top of the table leaving music giants like WizKid behind which is a big deal because people already know their music.

Omah Lay

Omah Lay can easily be seen as the breakout star of the year 2020. He was able to get the attention of individuals all across Nigeria. His debut single ‘You’ became viral. At first, he used to work behind the scenes for other artists. However, upon realizing he was not getting enough credit, he decided to establish a solo career. His debut has millions of streams, and his 5 new works are falling along the same path. He has no intention of cooling down soon.

Bad Boy Tim

He has struggled as an artist for years, but his hit song “Micheal Jackson” made his career flourish. He then made many remixes of this song which were successful. Bad Boy Time has a huge career potential ahead as he is just starting off.

Chike

He is a singer and songwriter associated with the MTN project and The Voice Nigeria. His unique vocals gained him popularity throughout the competitions. His album “Boo of the Boneless” did very well and became the top listened-to album in 2019.

Ckay

He is a producer and recorder signed with Warner Music South Africa. His production debut was “Third Mainland Bridge”, which did very well. His song “Love Nwantiti” got over 70 million streams.

Liya

She is an Afropop singer and songwriter. Her singer “melo” did very well across the charts. Her singles show a range in diversity, and she will do very well in the future.

Jimni Abduls

He is a singer, songwriter, and producer. His debut single was “Jolag”. It was critically acclaimed and showed a range in style. His coming singles went along the same path. He calls himself a very special singer and he is right.
