Nigerians facing fertility problems abroad are returning home for IVF.

Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, a human fertility expert, has stated that Nigerians who are having fertility problems abroad are returning to the country to undertake IVF(Invitro Fertilization) procedures.

This occurred as he urged women who have been diagnosed with fibroids not to be frightened by the prospect of surgery, claiming that there are a variety of non-surgical options for managing the disease. He specifically advised them to investigate noninvasive treatment options for fibroids.

He spoke in Abuja, at an event with the theme: “Modern Techniques for Managing Uterine Fibroids and Adenomyosis, organized by the Society of Gynaecologist’ and Obstetrics of Nigeria, SOGON, in collaboration with Nordica Fertility Centre, Abuja, and Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners, ANPMP.

However, Dr. Ajayi, the Managing Director of Nordica Reproductive Centre, a leading fertility treatment center in Abuja, blamed insecurity for foreign nationals' unwillingness to come to Nigeria for fertility therapy.

He noted that” That we are here in Nigeria does not mean we are sub-humans. Europeans don’t have two heads. We also try to give Nigerians what they will get if they go to Paris or London and that has been our goal all along. So Year in and year out, that is what we try to match ourselves with and I can say proudly that everybody is beginning to see that and that is why we are getting many more people coming in from abroad to come to Nigeria for IVF treatment.
