Fury demands £500m to fight Anthony Joshua
TYSON FURY has revealed that returning to professional boxing will cost him half a £500 million.
After knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, the Gypsy King, 33, insisted he was hanging up his gloves.
The WBC champion has puzzled fans by retiring, then announcing a £200 million rematch with Anthony Joshua, only to retract and insist he is only interested in exhibition even.
He has now claimed he would take on his fellow Brit – for the audacious
After first boosting hopes of a Battle of Britain bout when speaking to Frank Warren's Queensbury Promotions on Tuesday, he revealed the sum in an interview with talkSPORT.
Fury announced on Good Morning Britain today that he is retired and will only fight for "Hollywood type entertainment," in a confusing string of apparent U-turns.
And now he's confused the waters even more by telling talkSPORT, "I'm completely retired." There has been no change. Everyone is assuming that I'll return and that I'll be returning on these days.
"I'm returning for a couple of exhibition battles." It's time for some fun, a show, and some entertainment.
"I'm not sure who the display is aimed at. I assumed it was against a veteran or The Rock or someone, so maybe £200 million will be generated on my end.
"Not even £200 million tempts me." I'd definitely want a half-billion dollars when I retire.
"I won't say no if it's half a billion dollars" (to Joshua).
“What he’s got to do is come out with half a billion and then the Gypsy King will solve all his problems. Because if AJ gets beat again by Usyk then there will be only one man to redeem this great nation of the United Kingdom and he goes by the name of Tyson Fury.
“I can solve all the problems, the embarrassment, all that stuff that’s going to happen – one call, but it’s going to cost £500m.”
