Nation’s woes: Seek Obi’s help, group tells Buhari
The Peter Obi Support Network has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to seek ideas from the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, on how to tackle the myriad of challenges currently facing the country.
The group specifically listed the rising level of insecurity, warnings of potential terrorist attacks across the country and the unprecedented crash of the naira, among other problems the President must begin to address.
In a statement by its Director of Strategic Communication, Mr Onwuasoanya Jones, on Friday, the group stated that the former Anambra State governor had shown himself to be capable of ending insecurity.
He added that his ideas could be vital to the current administration, which was obviously overwhelmed with the raging insecurity.
Jones added that as patriot whose motivation for seeking to be President was not borne out of selfish reasons, Obi would be ready to offer an idea that would benefit Nigerians.
He also acknowledged that the Federal Government might have adopted Obi’s idea on how best to arrest the rapid decline in the value of the naira, with the CBN governor’s directive that anyone caught buying dollar with naira would be arrested.
According to him, the CBN’s directive was informed by Obi’s speech few weeks ago, in which he warned that any government official caught spending dollars will be arrested if he becomes President.
