2023 Presidency: NIDSG DG faults Atiku/Okowa ticket

2023 Presidency: NIDSG DG faults Atiku/Okowa ticket

The Director-General of Niger Delta Support Group (NIDSG), Pastor Vincent Udume Odogbor has berated the choice of Atiku/Okowa presidential tickets of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as the most insensitive political decision in the history of Nigeria.

This is as he said that It’s insane to think and wrong in every political equation that power should remain in the north after eight years of President Buhari’s administration.

According to Odogbor, “both Atiku and Okowa are too very desperate people whose only interest is self. Desperation is not a good virtue, it always leads to problematic conclusions.

“Every right-thinking political mind should know that for equity, fairness, unity, and justice to reign, it’s the turn of the south to produce the next president of Nigeria in 2023.

“It’s becoming very obvious to all, that the former Vice president and presidential candidate of the people’s democratic party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate are two desperate betrayals of trust, possessed with greed, egocentrism, and the untamed primitive quest for power.

“This extreme desperate desire for power has made the former Vice president throw all sense of decorum, statesmanship, respect for the rule of law, commitment to National unity, and political stability into the lagoon.

“In Atiku’s idea of Nigeria, the south doesn’t exist, even if it does, he believes the south is a conquered territory.

“As of today, the PDP national leadership structure is all from the North, the presidential candidate is from the North, the two spokesmen Sen. Dino Melaye and Bwala are from the north, and the National Youth leader is from the North.

“Where is the place of the south in Atiku’s Imaginary unified Nigeria? No doubt Atiku’s Presidency will be more lopsided than that of President Buhari.

“This trend is very divisive and a threat to our national unity, peace, and progress as a nation. Such ideology tends to create bad blood, the reason behind heightened agitations of different groups IPOB inclusive, youth restiveness, and breakdown of law in the south.

“We can’t afford to keep stoking the fire of disunity by being insensitive to the plights of others. When men of reasoning become blinded by money politics.

‘Governors Nyesom Wike and Akeredolu are in order, it’s the turn of the south to produce the next president. This is the position and not the maneuvered Vice Presidentship that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is condescending to.

“Even the archaic visionless All Progressive Congress party, acted more sensibly by zoning the Presidency to the south, a glaring reality that it’s the turn of the south to produce the president in 2023.

“Atiku knows his way to Delta state when it comes to picking his running mate, of course, to fund his campaigns, but has never lent his voice on the state of the nonfunctional Sea ports in Delta state.

“The people of the south should see that the former Vice president Mr. Atiku Abubakar, is selfish and self-centered and does not have value and respect for us.

“Atiku believes that the Presidency is the exclusive preserve of the Northern Fulani. Because it makes no sense that after President Buhari a Northern Muslim Fulani man leaves office next year, another Norther Fulani Muslim should take over from him.

“Atiku should know that We own Nigeria together and must display mutual respect for each other. The resources of this country as well as the elective political offices must be shared equitably for the benefit of all”
