Why Nigerian Artistes Excel In Global Music Than Others In Africa – DJ Kelblizz

Why Nigerian Artistes Excel In Global Music Than Others In Africa – DJ Kelblizz

Nigerian artistes and their performances in music have taken a global audience.

From Lagos to Accra, Dubai, Johannesburg, London, Toronto, Houston and Atlanta, just to name a few places, Nigerian artistes have created a new culture of entertainment, excitement in global music.

Whether at nightclubs, sporting events, as recently seen at the commonwealth games and other international scene, music lovers gyrate to the beat coming out of Nigeria.

Even though artistes from other African countries might put the same effort or use the same tools, Nigerian artistes have excelled globally more than their counterparts in Africa.

The country’s most renowned music genres are Indigenous, Fuji, Afrobeat, Highlife, Afrobeats, Afro-juju, Dancehall, Igbo rap, Yoruba rap and Gospel.

Miracle Sabastine Aggrey, Professionally known as DJ Kelblizz, explained the new thirst for Nigerian music by world’s biggest Artistes and audience.

Kelblizz is a Nigerian Disc Jockey, Record Producer, Music Publisher, Music Enthusiast and CEO of De Thrills Music.

1. Lyrics and Language In Which the Artiste’s Song is Performed

Kelblizz said other renowned musicians now want to collaborate with more Nigerian artistes because they also need to get our audience to love them.

He explained that the lyrics and language in music are crucial because they enable the audience to further connect to tracks. The language in which a song is performed increases its potentials, concerning popularity and longevity. Even when our Artistes perform in their local languages, they ensure the chorus or hook is English. By this deliberate choice, once the music gets into the media, it stands a chance of getting the audience fall in love with the song’s melody by about 1.75 billion English-speaking people, which is a quarter of the world’s population.

2. Nigerian’s Population & Social Media Trends.

Nigeria has an estimated population of 213 million people as of January 2022, Nigeria is the most populated nation in Africa.

DJ Kelblizz says the percentage of Nigerians with access to the internet gives them the power to trend globally on platforms like TikTok, Facebook and Twitter.

TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels has become the latest tool for music discovery, making it easy for Nigerian music to taste the global market.

3. Presence of World Major Labels in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, We have Major Artistes such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Rema, Omah Lay and many more, which all have Musical deals with either Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, or Warner Music Group. These labels will offer International Management, they increase their capital strength for production, branding, Pitching and marketing amongst others, They will even host big gigs/tour on behalf of the artist.

According to DJ Kelblizz, the labels promote and boost Nigerian artistes internationally, setting their music to new marketing promotional strategies and connecting them to collaborate with major artistes.

This also extends to building relationships and partnerships for our artistes by international media and music streaming companies.
