Queen Elizabeth: Niger govt orders all flags to fly at half mast

The Niger State Government has directed that all flags across the state be flown at half-mast in honour of Her Majesty, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

A statement by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane said this is in line with the Federal Government’s directive that all flags be flown at half-mast in the country and Nigerian Missions abroad, effective from Sunday, 11th September 2022, and Monday 12th September 2022.

The SSG said,” as the world mourns the passing of an iconic figure of the centuries, the people and government of Niger State’s deepest sympathy and condolences go out to His Majesty King Charles III and the rest of the Royal Family”.

Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96, making her the longest Royal to live in British history. She was immediately succeeded by her 73-year-old son King Charles III.
