Africa fashion week Nigeria: Adire Extravaganza
For three days, fashion afficionados and fashionistas were treated to a never-before-seen creativity extravaganza expressed in the ageless, beautiful native fabric, Adire, at the just concluded Lagos Fashion Fair and Africa Fashion Week Nigeria held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
The event attracted designers from different African countries, who showcased their unique creative works done in Adire, on the runway.
The designs fell into these categories: casuals, cocktail, formal and informal wears.
Interestingly, the twin events featured 60 exhibition booths set up by fashion entrepreneurs who showcased variants of African wears, shoes and fashion accessories.
The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, blessed the grand finale with his royal presence. Other dignitaries included the First Lady of Kwara State, Amb Olufunke Abdulrazaq; Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, Oba Saheed Elegushi, amongst others.
The finale was rounded with the presentation of awards to some notable Nigerians who have contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigeria Fashion Industry. The awardees included Lady Ada Chukwudozie, Nike Okundaye, Kelechi Amadi-Obi and Ejiro Amos Tafiri, among others.
