Anthony Joshua considers acting after retiring from boxing.

Anthony Joshua, a former heavyweight champion who won the title twice, has stated that after retiring from boxing, he plans to pursue a career in acting.

In an interview with the American international monthly men's magazine GQ, the British-Nigerian made this revelation.

Joshua claims that boxing has given him many opportunities, particularly after he won the gold medal in the superheavyweight division at the London Olympics in 2021.

The 33-year-old Joshua talked about his passion for acting in the USA. He began by saying that boxing had improved his English and helped him get out of difficult circumstances.

I have to go and try some things outside of my comfort zone, he remarked.

Because I was raised as a street child and enjoyed to make problems when out and about, I've had to study books, work on my English, and represent myself a bit better. But now that I'm an adult, people look up to me as a role model.

With his aspirations to become an actor, Joshua continued by saying that boxing has already prepared him for a life outside of the ring.

"I believe that acting will be an option for me after boxing since I've done a lot of commercial work, I know what production teams want, and I feel at ease in front of the camera.

He said, when asked what kinds of acting parts he could be interested in, "I wouldn't restrict myself, although it'll definitely be more romantic. Because I don't know how well my American accent sounds, I don't know how successful I am in the film industry.

The former unified heavyweight champion ruled out the possibility of joining the Ultimate Fighting Champions, which includes mixed martial artists Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya, both of Nigerian heritage.

"I mean, I'm going to admire those guys who have spent years honing their stand-up grappling and takedown submission skills.

"It's like when they come to see boxing, I know I'll also smoke them. When I was younger, I tried Judo. It was incredibly difficult, and when you're 10, the last thing you want to be doing is getting flipped in the air and landing on your head, etc.

Joshua is anticipated to make a comeback in 2023, with Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin mentioned as potential rivals.
