BREAKING: Tribunal removes Adeleke’s as governor, declares Oyetola Osun gov

The Election Appeal Tribunal, which was considering the APC and Adegboyega Oyetola's petition against the PDP's Ademola Adeleke's win, nullified the outcome of the July 16 Osun gubernatorial election on Friday.

In a majority ruling, Justice Tetsea Kume stated that INEC did not comply substantially with the Constitution and the requirements of the Electoral Act.

He then subtracted the observed over-voting from the votes cast for the candidates and determined that Oyetola had won the election with 314, 921 votes, while Adeleke received 290, 266.

He asked INEC to revoke Adeleke's certificate of return and give a new one to Oyetola, who received a majority of valid votes.

Meanwhile, as of the time of reporting this article, a minority ruling by one of the judges is being read.
