EFCC apprehends six suspected internet fraudsters in A-Ibom

THE Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Akwa Ibom State on Monday said it apprehended six suspected internet fraudsters.By Chioma Onuegbu, Uyo
The suspects include Udenze Benjamin, Godwin Atike, Emmanuel Francis, Adebe Oluwademilade, Anietie Brownson and Sabastin Obioma.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the EFCC's acting head of media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, and acquired by newsmen in Uyo yesterday.
Following intelligence, the suspects were apprehended along the Calabar-Itu route in the Itu Local Government Area of the State on Thursday, October 5, 2023, during an early morning sting operation.
The statement stated that among of the things recovered from the suspects included phones and laptops, and that they (the suspects) would be charged in court at the conclusion of the inquiry.
"EFCC agents arrested six suspected internet fraudsters along the Calabar-Itu road in Akwa Ibom State's Uyo Local Government Area after receiving intelligence."
"Among the items recovered were phones and laptop computers."They will be charged in court as soon as the investigations are completed," according to the statement.
