The Lagos State Government stated on Monday that Ladipo Market was yet to reopen.

According to a press release signed by Mrs Kadiri Folashade, Director of Public Affairs, the market had not to perfect some environmental and safety standards required before resuming economic activities.

The Lagos Waste Management Authority's Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, who made the clarification, stated that the market remained closed because its management had not fully met stipulated mandatory safety and environmental measures previously outlined by the Authority.

"At marketplaces, our primary concern is people's safety and environmental well-being." The reopening is conditional on strict respect to LAWMA's safety restrictions. "It is critical that all necessary precautions be taken to avoid any potential risks," he stated.

Gbadegesin went on to say that, while other markets had successfully met the defined safety requirements and had been allowed to reopen for business, Ladipo Market would likewise reopen for business once it passed the required safety check.

However, the markets of Oyingbo, Ile Epo Oke-Odo, and Alamutu have all reopened.
