Oladipo Diya’s Family Announces Burial Date

The family of the late Lieutenant General Oladipo Diya, former chief of general staff, announced on Wednesday that he will be put to rest on July 29.

Diya, the late General Sani Abacha's deputy, died on March 26, 2023. He died just eight days before his 79th birthday.

According to a statement issued on behalf of the family by Prince Oyesinminola Diya, the funeral procedures will commence on July 26, 2023, with a night of tributes.

This will be followed by a singing service on July 27, 2023, and a wake on July 28, 2023.

Church services, interment, reception and entertainment, and final laying to rest will take place on July 29.

On July 30, there will be a service of thankfulness.

According to the statement, more information, including precise burial locations, would be released in due course.
