Mohbad: Nigerian police give fresh update on Mohbad’s autopsy (See Details)
The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Lagos State Command, has provided an update on the autopsy of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, offered the update in a statement on his verified X handle, adding the autopsy was performed by the greatest forensic experts in the country.
He added that the late singer's family members were present during the examination.
The PPRO debunked rumour that the process may be hijacked by some unscrupulous individuals who would not want the singer to get justice.
He urged Nigerians to remain calm while the result of the autopsy is being awaited.
He wrote, “As assured by the CP, the autopsy was promptly carried out by some of the best forensic pathologists in the country, in the presence of family members.
“While we await the result, we urge everyone to remain calm and confident in the process.
“There is absolutely no underhand dealing, as feared by some concerned persons. In the meantime, other aspects of the investigation are progressing well.”
Recall that the Police had announced last week that the autopsy of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been completed.
Mohbad’s death on Tuesday, September 12, raised concerns, as an accusing finger was pointed at the Marlian Record Label’s owner Afeez Fashola professionally known as Naira Marley.
Also, there have been allegations and counter-allegations from his distant relatives over his estate in the early days of his demise. Nigerians queried why he was buried at Ikorodu in Lagos, immediately after the following day he died, but his father provided an explanation that the family Yoruba custom. Nigerian youths have staged peaceful protests to demand justice for him.
