Lagos Assembly probes missing intestine boy’s case

Lagos Assembly probes missing intestine boy’s case

On Monday, the Lagos State House of Assembly applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for visiting Master Adebola, a 13-year-old child with an alleged missing small intestine.

During plenary, House Speaker Mudashiru Obasa described the governor's action as evidence that the government was responsive and caring.

"It demonstrates the governor's concern for him by his visit to the mother and child in the hospital, as well as the promise he made, which gives hope." "It's admirable," Obasa added.

He did, however, emphasize the importance of having a framework in place to create a structure that limits any challenge to state institutions.

He went on to say that it was critical to get to the bottom of the situation.

As a result, the Speaker formed an ad hoc committee to investigate the matter, with Majority Leader Noheem Adams serving as chairman.

Temitope Adewale, Steve Ogundipe, Surajudeen Tijani, and Lawal Musibau are also on the committee.

David Setonji, Deputy Whip of the House, commended the Speaker for drawing the legislators' attention to the matter, adding, "We need to look more into the state's health sector."

He highlighted that the House has taken realistic efforts to enact an organ harvesting law, adding that the law will play an essential role in the state's future.

Sanwo-Olu paid an unplanned visit to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on Sunday, where Adebola Akin-Bright is being treated.

The governor had informed the youngster and his mother that his government would take over the boy's medical treatment, stressing that the most important thing was for Adebola to recover and return to school.
