AFCON 2025 qualifier: Galatasaray provide negative injury update on Osimhen ahead Libya games
Victor Osimhen is now racing to be healthy for Nigeria's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
Osimhen was replaced at the break in Galatasaray's 3-3 tie with Kasimpasa last Saturday.
The 25-year-old scored twice throughout the match.
The striker explained after the game that his substitution was a precautionary move.
Galatasaray has provided an update on the injury.
Victor Osimhen, a football player, experienced pain in his upper left posterior muscle during a Kasımpaşa match in the seventh week of the Trendyol Super League. He was diagnosed with a strain and bleeding in his upper left posterior muscle group during his check-ups at our sponsor hospital Medicana started,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen is expected to release his list for the clash with Libya this week.
