Ballon d'Or Organizers Unveil New Rules for Award Eligibility and Selection Process
France Football, the organization behind the Ballon d'Or awards, is set to implement a new regulation starting this year.
With just over two weeks until the ceremony on October 28, speculation is rife about who will take home the prestigious prize. Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior is among the frontrunners, competing against Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and Rodri.
Vinicius had an outstanding season, helping Los Blancos secure both the LaLiga and Champions League titles.
However, according to journalist Mario Cortegana from The Athletic, the winner of the 2024 Ballon d'Or will not be interviewed by France Football prior to the award ceremony, breaking from past tradition. Cortegana reports that the winner will only discover their victory when the envelope is opened during the live event.
