Police confirm the assassination of an Ogun APC candidate.
Adeleke Adeyinka, the All Progressives Congress councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government, was murdered, according to the Ogun State Police Command. He was 40 years old.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria , the deceased, a former youth leader of Abeokuta South Local Government, was running for councilor of Ward 15 in the upcoming local government elections on November 16.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST, police PRO Omolola Odutola confirmed the occurrence, saying the culprits, who arrived in an unregistered Toyota Corolla sport car, departed the scene to an unknown destination.
She noticed that his body was hauled away for burial without being examined or autopsied.
Odutola stated: "A shooting incident and murder occurred at 12:30 p.m. The intruders fired fire, murdering Adeyinka Adeleke, 40, on the spot before fleeing to an unknown place.
"A worried citizen said that unknown males, thought to be cultists, arrived in a Toyota Corolla sport vehicle, armed with a pump action shotgun and a revolver.
"Another individual, Adesanya Adeyinka, requested the body for burial without seeking a doctor's examination or autopsy."
Odutola claimed that efforts were on to catch the fleeing individuals as the investigation began.
During his life, Adeyinka was claimed to have worked for a transportation union in Abeokuta's Panseke neighborhood.
