A 2011 "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" footage between Justin Bieber and Sean "Diddy" Combs has been making waves again since Diddy was arrested for allegedly engaging in racketeering and sex trafficking. In the video, Jimmy Kimmel, the host, asks the two about their relationship and if they are working together on any music projects.
Combs, 54, answers, "I think that we have become friends in a strange way." At barely 16 years old, Bieber compares their bond to that of skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and the late Christopher "Big Black" Boykin, who served as his bodyguard. They add, "It's like Rob & Big."
Combs expresses his protective sentiment towards Bieber, stating, "For many of us, he's like a younger brother. He doesn't hesitate to reach out and ask for advice. He's someone who is industry-savvy, and the record industry is a strong family. We really want to preserve him because, aside from his talents, he's a genuinely good guy." He adds, "He's one of the greatest kids you could ever know."
As the two share a light-hearted moment, Kimmel jokes, "You know, Diddy bought his son a Bentley; maybe he could buy you one too while you're at it." To which Bieber responds, "He got me a Lamborghini, but I haven't gotten it yet, though."
Bieber cleverly sidesteps discussing his relationship with Diddy, remarking, "Everything is not for everyone." Another segment from the same period shows Diddy mentioning Bieber's time spent with him. "He's having 48 hours with Diddy. What we're doing, we can't really disclose, but it's definitely a 15-year-old's dream," Combs shares. He humorously notes, "I have been given custody of him. He's signed to Usher, and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album. I don't have legal guardianship of Bieber, but for the next 48 hours, he's with me, and we're gonna go full crazy."
