Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, a boyhood friend of the late musician Mohbad, has threatened to sue the deceased's mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, for defamation.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Primeboy stated that Mohbad's mother accused him of having an incident with her son prior to his death during an interview.

"In the aforementioned interview, you claimed that our client was always fighting the late Mohbad and complaining about his mistreatment by the deceased since the singer came to fame.

"You also claimed that our client was encouraged to flee following Mohbad's death in order to avoid suspicion in the case.

"Your actions are intended to damage and degrade the integrity of our client, a rising star in the music industry. Your allegations in the interview have had a bad influence on our client's affection and love from fans and well-wishers all across the world," he said.

In an Instagram letter, Primeboy gave the late singer's mother seven days to withdraw her allegations.

Primeboy also threatened to take legal action if she failed to comply.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, in unknown circumstances, and was buried the next day.

The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, or LASUTH, exhumed his remains for examination on September 21, 2023.
