Moses Bliss Addresses Ebuka Songs' Departure from Spotlite Nation
Renowned gospel artist and founder of Spotlite Nation, Moses Bliss, has broken his silence on the departure of former signee, Ebuka Songs, who left the label just 11 months into a three-year contract. Speaking at a press conference during The Experience 2024 music concert, where both artists performed independently, Bliss clarified that there are no lingering issues between them.
“Me and Ebuka Songs? There are no issues between us,” Bliss stated. “Of course, he was signed to Spotlite Nation. He just said he wants to do things on his own. Our contract didn’t end when it was supposed to end... I prayed about it and I said, ‘You can go.’”
Bliss further emphasized his focus on the bigger picture—spreading the gospel of Christ. “We hold no grudge against him. The goal is for Jesus to be seen. Our goal is to give people the opportunity to minister the gospel. I love him and I am happy to have been part of his journey and wish him the best,” he added.
The statement sheds light on the amicable nature of the split, which had previously sparked speculation among fans of both artists. Ebuka Songs, known for his spirited gospel renditions, has continued his solo journey, while Moses Bliss remains a pillar in the gospel music community, championing collaboration and ministry growth.
This scenario underscores an important dynamic in the gospel music industry: the balance between mentorship and individual autonomy. Bliss’s gracious response to Ebuka’s early exit reflects his commitment to kingdom principles over contractual obligations. His emphasis on love, growth, and the collective mission to share the gospel demonstrates maturity and leadership that should inspire others in the industry.
For gospel music lovers, this moment serves as a reminder that even in disagreements or shifts, the ultimate goal remains unified—spreading the message of Christ. Both Moses Bliss and Ebuka Songs are poised to continue making impactful music, and their independent paths may yet serve as testimonies of grace and purpose.
As the gospel community watches their journeys unfold, this moment will likely be remembered not for the controversy, but for the spirit of understanding and shared mission that prevailed.
