Presidential Aide Raises Alarm Over Alleged Conspiracy to Destabilize Nigeria

In a recent statement, Ajuri Ngelale, a Presidential aide, shed light on concerning developments regarding Nigeria's security landscape. According to Ngelale, there are indications that certain sub-regional forces are actively working to destabilize the country under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

The Presidency attributes the recent surge in kidnappings, particularly in the North, to the machinations of political forces within the northern region. Ngelale revealed these insights during an interview with TVC, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address the resurgence of mass abductions, as witnessed in Kaduna and Sokoto last week.

While acknowledging efforts to secure the nation, Ngelale highlighted ongoing challenges, particularly in the North-Central, North-West, and North-East regions. He underscored the gravity of the situation, stating that certain sub-regional geopolitical forces are actively working against Nigeria's stability.

Despite refraining from specifying the entities involved, Ngelale disclosed collaborative efforts with the U.S. government to rescue over 280 schoolchildren abducted in Kaduna. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation in addressing threats to national security, particularly from regional actors intent on destabilizing the nation.

In response to these developments, President Tinubu has condemned the kidnappings and urged security agencies to prioritize the rescue of the abducted schoolchildren. Ngelale reiterated the commitment of the administration to intensify collaboration both within the region and internationally to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

These revelations underscore the complex challenges facing Nigeria's security apparatus and the importance of proactive measures to safeguard the nation's stability. As efforts continue to combat threats to national security, decisive action and international cooperation remain crucial in addressing external influences seeking to destabilize the country.
