Yusuf 'Hungry Lion' Ogunbunmi has told his opponent, Hammed 'Eshe' Ganiyu, that he will face a lion in the ring on the night they clash.

The fight is one of seven scheduled for the May 1 boxing event at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Ganiyu had previously stated that he will knock out Yusuf in round two. In his response, Yusuf stated that Ganiyu would suffer the wrath of a hungry lion.

"I fight like a ravenous lion hunting a dog. I'm coming for you, Eshe," he said.

The event will also feature a West African Boxing Union light welterweight title fight between Segun 'War' Adeyemi and Adeyemi 'Spirit' Adekanla. Raheem 'Baddo' Animashaun and Samuel 'Apata Roro' Moses will fight for the national welterweight title, while Afikun Gbenga will face Adewale Oladeji in a super welterweight challenge.

Sikiru 'Isho' Ogunyaju will face the current national flyweight champion, Sifon 'Best' Iwatt, in a national flyweight challenge fight; in the national catch weight category, Sikiru 'Omo Iya Eleja' Shogbesan will face Batholomew Abuchi; and in the national lightweight category, Emmanuel 'Ability' Abimbola will fight Azeez Ayobami.

The best fighter on the night will win the N1 million cash reward that comes with the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the star performer.
