Dana Air: NSIB Shares update on investigation
The Nigerian Safety inquiry Bureau has launched an inquiry into why Dana Air, a passenger carrier, overshot the runway immediately after landing at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Tuesday.
Mrs Wunmi Oladeji, Director of Public Affairs at the NSIB, confirmed the probe and stated that the agency has initiated an investigation into the event.
She stated, "Our investigators are currently on the scene of the incident." They are looking into it. We will use their report to provide the next update."
According to a statement issued by the airline's management on Tuesday, the jet arrived in Lagos from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The aircraft, with the registration number 5N BKI, had 83 passengers on board, but all disembarked unhurt.
However, the aircraft was stuck in a bushy area close to the runway.
The incident happened around 10:15 am, with emergency responders, including the airport’s Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Services mobilised to the scene to salvage the situation.
