Naira Abuse: I'm the Only Artist Who Stops People Spraying Me - Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti, an afrobeat performer, claims to be the only musician in Nigeria that forbids fans from showering him with money.
He made the allegation in a new video uploaded to his Instagram feed.

He further claimed that many artists, particularly fuji musicians, sing songs about individuals during their concerts just to get sprayed.

Kuti made the charges in light of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) crackdown on Naira abusers.

In a video statement posted on his Instagram, he said:
“I don’t even like to be sprayed. I’m the only artist that stops people from spraying me. Even my dad, the legendary Fela didn’t prevent people from spraying him but he demanded the denominations he wanted to be sprayed.

“Nobody wey Sunny Ade never sing for so he can be sprayed. Everybody name. KWAM 1 … eh eh. It is the politicians that made spraying a standard behaviour.”
