“I Hope We Find A Miracle” – Celine Dion Gives Update On Her Sickness
Celine Dion, the ailing Canadian famous singer, has said that she is looking for a miracle to improve her health.
The 56-year-old singer hopes that scientific study will lead to a cure for her illness, but for the time being, she is learning to live with it and taking each day as it comes.
Talk Talk. Nigeria News Reports Dion, who has a rare neurological illness called Stiff Person Syndrome, provided the update during an interview as the cover star of Vogue France's May issue.
The illness causes stiff muscles in the chest, arms, and legs, and noise or emotional discomfort is known to provoke spasms, but Dion, who first revealed her disease in December 2022, told the magazine she was "well" but that her condition required "a lot of work."
"Five days a week I undergo athletic, physical and vocal therapy," she went on to say.
"I haven't overcome the disease; it is still within me and will always be. I'm hoping that scientific study will lead to a miracle or a cure, but for the time being, I'll have to learn to live with it," she explained.
When asked if she plans to return to the stage, the singer, who was forced to cancel a spate of gigs in 2023 and 2024, said she's not sure because her body may not be strong enough.
"I'm not sure..." "My body will tell me," she explained.
Dion made a surprise cameo at the Grammys in February, presenting Taylor Swift with the Album of the Year award.
She also revealed in January that she will create a feature-length documentary about her disease to raise public awareness.
