Beautiful Nubia: Music Legend Reflects On His ‘Safe’ NPFL Experience
Nigerian musician and music composer Segun Akinolu, also known as Beautiful Nubia, has urged Nigerians to support the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Beautiful Nubia, well known for his hit song "Seven Lives," says he and his band members recently saw an NPFL game at Ibadan's Lekan Salami Stadium, which was both enjoyable and safe.
On Thursday, April 25, the 56-year-old music musician took to his X page to share a photo of himself while attending a league game between Shooting Stars and Akwa United.
The match was played on March 10, 2024, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, and Shooting Stars won.
Victor Ehibe (15th minute), Dumte Christian Pyagbara (18th minute), and Abdul Lawal (89th minute) scored the game-winning goals at the 10,000-capacity stadium.
Beautiful Nubia, while remarking on the league, stated that the NPFL has the ability to generate income for young people.
"I went to see a Shooting Stars game the other day with my brother and crew. It was enjoyable and safe. Despite the NPFL's obvious problems, the league has enormous potential for youth employment and economic generation. We should be looking within. He said, "It's not always Europe and the EPL."
On April 28, Shooting Stars will face Akure's Sunshine Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The game will start at 4 p.m.
