Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, warned against getting carried away with their Premier League title aspirations after defeating local rivals Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 in a hard-fought London derby on Sunday.


The Gunners raced into a three-goal lead by halftime, but Spurs responded with two goals, leaving the visitors to hold on for the points following a stunning late comeback.

"Do not get carried away with yourself. Simply comprehend that we need to and want to improve ourselves. There is room for development, and we will play Bournemouth again," Arteta remarked.
Arsenal, the league leaders, play the Cherries on Saturday before closing with games against Manchester United and Everton in a gripping title chase against Manchester City.

"We're right on it. "The motivation and what is ahead is beautiful," he told reporters after a nerve-racking finale away to Tottenham, who could have snatched a late draw.

Arsenal have recovered after losing 2-0 at home to Aston Villa in the Premier League and 1-0 at Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.
They defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers away, blasted Chelsea at The Emirates, and have now taken three points from neighbors Spurs, something Arteta admitted was always difficult.

However, he stated that his club was prepared for the challenge and eager to win their first league title in 20 years.

"They have played a lot of minutes and games. It's been an emotionally challenging month, yet I had to stop them in training yesterday because they wanted more. That's a positive indicator.

"This squad has the courage and commitment to make it happen. I have faith in the players.

"To be honest, I was having some doubts in the last few minutes," he admitted with a smile.
