The Nigeria Premier Football League managers' association has expressed delight at Finidi George's selection as Super Eagles manager.
Finidi George is an active member of the association because he works as the technical adviser for Enyimba of Aba. Recall that the former Nigeria international led Enyimba to the 2022-2023 NPFL championship.

Finidi George continued to work at Enyimba despite his role as assistant coach of the Super Eagles under coach Jose Peseiro.

Finidi did the same when he was the national team's interim manager in March, and he is likely to do so again now that he is the regular coach.

Before he was named Super Eagles' permanent coach, there were reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was considering hiring another coach from outside the nation.

The NPFL managers organization was among the football stakeholders who advocated for a local coach, and the federation heeded the call by hiring Finidi.

"Welcome on board, MON," Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, also the association's secretary general, said on his X Twitter.

"On behalf of the league club managers, we wish you the very best coach, NEW SUPER EAGLES COACH."
