‘You Don Finally Accept Defeat’ – Nigerians React As Davido Reveals Plan To Quit Music After Next Album

Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has sparked a firestorm of reactions with his recent comment about his intention to leave the music profession after the release of his next album.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria News, the Afrobeats musician stated his intentions in a social media post, which instantly became a hot issue.
Davido, a major figure in the Nigerian music scene, hinted to his exit from music in a poignant post, writing, "Yall niggas really want me out of the game that bad? Oya, after the next album, I'm done. So una fit find peace."

This declaration was in response to frequent rumors and negative press about his career.

An announcement has not sat well with a legion of fans and music enthusiasts who argue that his music transcends critics’ negativity and is cherished by a global audience that appreciates his artistry.

Twitter user @gravityempire28 reacted hilariously but pointedly, implying that Davido had given defeat too soon.

“Yu dn finally accept defeat 😂 O03 you for wait make you be 001 first an…,” he wrote.

@_cantonaE stressed that Davido's songs should appeal to his followers rather than his adversaries. Another fan, @iamhbozz, advised the musician to focus on the positive feedback from his large fan base rather than the naysayers.

Furthermore, @mafia3O expressed sympathy for Davido's troubles in the industry, blaming them on his wealthy upbringing and alleged bias against him in the media and the industry at large.

"But let's be real, Davido has really gone through a lot in the industry," he wrote, highlighting the perceived efforts to undermine the singer’s achievements despite his consistent track record of hits.

@DaddyZee02 offered a critical take, suggesting that Davido’s predicament was partly due to not listening enough to his fans, who he believes see things the artist himself might miss.
