All to play for in Scottish Cup final, says Dessers
Cyriel Dessers, a Glasgow Rangers striker, is hoping for a great finish to the season before the Scottish Cup final against Celtic on May 25, according to TalkTalk Nigeria Sports Extra.
The Light Blues host Dundee at Ibrox on Tuesday (today) in their final home game as they aim for a strong run of results running up to the Scottish Cup final on May 25.
Dessers spoke to the media on Monday, before the Scottish Premiership's penultimate game, emphasising the need of remaining professional in the coming weeks.
"We just have to focus on what we can control, that is being professional in these next weeks," Dessers stated.
"We're preparing as well as we can for the next two games, which start tomorrow (today), and if we accomplish that, we'll be well prepared for the cup final.
"Then we just have to do our job and hopefully we can give something back to this club, to the fans, to the people inside and outside the building and win this cup final."
He also emphasized the importance of shifting the team's perspective and preparing for the upcoming challenge.
"We know we have to switch a button to go again tomorrow (today)," he stated.
"Because we can't just let it go right now, especially with our eyes on the Cup final. We have to perform this week and give two really good performances to be ready and show that we are ready for this cup final, so we try to switch our minds to that.”
Dessers, on the other hand, remained optimistic in the team's potential to rise to the challenge.
"We need to find some new energy after a difficult weekend, but I believe we have it, and we have everything to play for in the Cup Final.
"We understand what we can do in the cup final against this team.
"I am confident that this team has had previous experience in difficult situations, important games, and finals. We have to take that experience and change it."
"I think that shows that you are a real champion or a really big player you have to see how you react to losing and switch the button and go again hard for the cup final."
