Karim Adeyemi And Michael Olise Are the Latest Players To Be ‘Shamed’ After Snubbing Nigeria

Borussia Dortmund winger, Karim Adeyemi, and Crystal Palace winger, Michael Olise have become the latest players to be humiliated by their preferred countries after snubbing the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Karim Adeyemi and Michael Olise were born overseas to Nigerian parents, hence they are eligible to play for Nigeria's Super Eagles team.
Karim Adeyemi, who has played for all of Germany's youth teams, elected to play for the German national team.

The 22-year-old winger has played for four different teams and was a member of the side that was eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage.

Despite being a prominent member of Borussia Dortmund that are expected to play in the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League final, coach Julian Nagelsmann decided not to include him in his Euro 2024 squad.

Despite being a key component of Borussia Dortmund, who is projected to compete in the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League final, coach Julian Nagelsmann chose not to include him in his Euro 2024 squad.

The good news is that Karim Adeyemi is still able to switch allegiance to Nigeria under FIFA's rule that allows a player who has not made more than three competitive appearances before the age of 21 to play for another country.

Though he has made four appearances, the fact that they were qualifiers may have influenced his decision to switch allegiance to his father's country, Nigeria.

Michael Olise has played for France's young teams and was expected to be a member of France's 2024 European Championship squad; however, he was overlooked.

The injury-prone winger may reevaluate his international options, since he is still eligible to play for Nigeria, Algeria, and England.
