Robin van Persie, a former Manchester United and Arsenal striker, believes Liverpool manager Arne Slot will thrive in his new post after replacing Jurgen Klopp.


Slot was chosen as Liverpool's new manager earlier this week.

The 45-year-old Dutchman left Feyenoord, where he had spent three years.

Van Persie told ESPN Nederland about Slot:

"I believe it will go extremely nicely. His preferred style of play is consistent with Klopp's and the players' expectations.

"I expect them to do exceptionally well. Liverpool is one of the nicer clubs in England. I've been able to play for two more excellent clubs."
