‘I used to sell weed, alcohol to sex workers’ – Gospel singer, Victor Thompson

Victor Thompson, a popular gospel musician, has revealed a disturbing truth about his upbringing.

The 'This Year' hitmaker revealed that he sold pot and alcohol to make ends meet after losing both of his parents at the age of 12.

Thompson told Chude Jideonwo that he sold sachet water during the day and beer, cannabis, and cigarettes to sex workers at night.

"At the time, I was selling beer, marijuana, cigarettes, and pure water. In the morning and afternoon, I vulcanized, made shoes, and sold pure water, but at night, I returned to my shop, which was near a brothel, to sell beer, cannabis, and cigarettes. "The majority of my customers were prostitutes," he recalled.

"I lost my parents between the ages of 12 and 14. My father died first, when I was probably about ten years old. When my father died, my aunties threw us out of his house. We didn't have anywhere to sleep. God is so nice, and a carpenter was so generous to give us an empty land to sleep in. It's a bush, so I'd smuggle my mother in at night, and that's how we lived for years. But she couldn't cope, so she died."
