Tosin Adarabioyo's transfer to Chelsea is nearing completion.

Adarabioyo became a free agent after his contract with Fulham terminated this summer.

Although the defender was thought to be on his way to Newcastle, he is now expected to become Enzo Maresca's first acquisition at Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer specialist, tweeted on Saturday: "EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea are close to signing Tosin Adarabioyo; negotiations are in the final stages."

"Newcastle have been working on a Tosin deal for weeks, but #CFC are now obvious favorites, and they will be cautious until it is finalized.

"Tosin to be first signing for Enzo Maresca, if all goes to plans."
