Jules Kounde, a Barcelona defender, has described Real Madrid's summer signing Kylian Mbappe as "Crème de la Crème (the best of the best)."

Kounde and Mbappe are both international colleagues on the French national team.

The two met in last season's UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, where PSG defeated Barcelona 7-3 on aggregate.

"A talent like Kylian Mbappe cannot be stopped alone; it demands a team effort. "Because he was [primarily] in my area, I contributed significantly to the team's success," Kounde stated (via Madrid Universal).

"That's why I play soccer: for the big games, against the greatest. In that regard, Kylian is the 'Crème de la Crème'. So it's extremely rewarding.

"Playing against these players encourages you to continue.”


Kounde and Mbappe will hope to lead France to victory when the Euro 2024 starts this week in Germany.
