Sergio Aguero, a Manchester City icon, has voiced his surprise at Cole Palmer's outstanding performance for Chelsea last season.

Palmer, who moved from Manchester City to Chelsea for £40 million last summer, had a fantastic debut season.

The England international scored 22 goals and assisted 11 times in 33 Premier League games with the Blues.

The 22-year-old is preparing to play for England in Euro 2024.

He was named the Premier League's Young Player of the Year.

"You saw Cole Palmer's talent first-hand, so I'm not surprised," Aguero said Stake.

"But it was shocking to see how quickly he adjusted to a new team.

"Normally, players would struggle to do it. The number of goals and assists Cole had throughout his debut season indicates that this procedure went very well.
