Lionel Messi, the Inter Miami superstar, has picked the goalie he believes is the world's best.

Messi believes Emi Martinez, his international teammate, is the best player.


Both men played important roles in Argentina's victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Martinez also earned the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award last year.

"For me, yes, I think that if he is not the best in the world he is among the best without a doubt," Messi stated to ESPN.

"He has demonstrated it in the national team and at his club.

"I believe that he is now a key member of his club's squad, having achieved his career goal of qualifying for the Champions League.

"I have no doubt that much of the credit is thanks to him."
