Top 3 candidates to replace Finidi George as Super Eagles head coach

Three candidates are reported to be in contention to succeed Finidi George as the Super Eagles' head coach.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is searching to replace Finidi, who resigned from his position last weekend.

There isn't much time left to make that decision, since the Super Eagles have fixtures in the following window in September.

According to Soccernet, the NFF is seeking for three coaches to fill the vacancy.

The first name is Antonio Conceicao, and he has a reputation for tactical skills and player development from his time at CFR Cluj in Romania, as well as coaching spells in Cyprus and Saudi Arabia.

He was sacked by Cameroon in 2022 and is ready to get back to coaching.

Samson Siasia could be a divisive decision. However, he boasts a remarkable coaching record, particularly with youth teams.

He led Nigeria's U-20 and U-23 teams to podium finishes in numerous events, including the Olympic Games.

His FIFA ban for match-fixing will expire in August. As a result, his name is being talked about for the Eagles position.

Siasia has managed the senior team twice before.

The final person on the list is Salisu Yusuf, who has won NPFL titles with Kano Pillars.

Despite the controversy surrounding a monetary present, Yusuf's experience as Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles and Head Coach of the Super Eagles B squad demonstrates his grasp of Nigerian football and player development.

Yusuf has now been restored by the NFF, demonstrating their faith in his abilities.
