I joined Nollywood to correct stereotypes — Northern actress, Aishat Mohammed

Kano State-born actress, Aishat Mohammed, has said that she joined the movie industry in a bid to challenge certain stereotypes and norms.

She told Saturday Beats, “The goal is to impact lives by using my talent and creativity to touch people’s hearts, inspire change, and make a positive impact in society. Also, I want to break barriers, challenge norms, and pave the way for others to follow their dreams.”

Mohammed, who recently featured in a movie titled ‘Cold Feet’, stated that though she is also a model and entrepreneur, acting gives her the most joy.

She said, “Acting has always been a passion of mine. It is a way for me to unleash my creativity, as well as embrace my versatile and unorthodox nature. Acting has become a way of life for me, because it allows me to fully express myself and explore different characters and emotions. I have been acting for most of my life.”

The actress added that instead of being weighed down by challenges, she actually learnt from them. She said, “For me, every lesson is a valuable experience that helps me excel in my craft. Each opportunity to learn and grow brings me closer to becoming the best version of myself as an actress. I embrace every lesson with enthusiasm and use it to fuel my passion for acting. It is a continuous journey of growth and improvement.”

Mohammed, who is a graduate of Herbert-Hoover-Schule of Administration and Innovation, Berlin, Germany, described herself as an ‘easygoing, generous person that is full of energy, and is always striving to achieve her goals.”
