UCL final: It should be forbidden – Mourinho makes demand from FIFA, UEFA
Jose Mourinho suggested that FIFA and UEFA should force Toni Kroos to postpone his retirement.
The new Fenerbahce manager was speaking after Real Madrid won another Champions League final.
Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior scored in the second half to propel Los Blancos to a surprising 15th European title with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Kroos, who had said he would retire this summer, received a standing ovation when Carlo Ancelotti replaced him with the game already won.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Mourinho urged the football regulating bodies to intervene and prevent Kroos from retiring while still in his prime.
"It should be outlawed. FIFA and UEFA have numerous regulations and rulings. Make a determination to prevent the individual from retiring."Mourinho said.
