Charles Jones, also known as Julio Foolio, a rising American rapper, was fatally shot.

According to News 4 Jax, the hip-hop artist was shot and died in Tampa, Florida, early Sunday morning.

He had only turned 26 years old when he passed away.

In a press release, Tampa Police verified that they responded to a 911 call of a shooting at the hotel around 4:40 a.m.

According to Tampa Police Public Information Officer Jonee' Lewis, one individual died in the event, and three others are being treated for injuries at an unnamed hospital.

"The victim in this morning's shooting is thought to be Charles Jones. Positive identification is awaiting confirmation from the Medical Examiner's Office," Lewis said.
