NPFL: Referees to use communication gadgets next season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will introduce contemporary communication devices beginning with the 2024/25 season.

According to TalkTalk Nigeria, the NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, unveiled the new project while speaking with the media.


"There is no perfect league anywhere in the world, and we are still going through the development stages," she said.

"By next season, we are going to introduce some gadgets for referees."

Elegbeleye also emphasized initiatives to improve youth programs at NPFL clubs. "We are also going to improve on the youth program because we made sure all the clubs registered all their feeders' teams as part of the club licensing last season," he told me.

Rangers won the NPFL title in 2023/24, with Remo Stars and Enyimba finishing second and third, respectively.

The new campaign will launch on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
