‘VeryDarkMan a necessity’ – Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti, a Grammy-nominated Afrobeat performer, has called controversial self-proclaimed social media activist VeryDarkMan "a necessity."

He made this statement in response to Music executive Paul Okoye, or Paulo,'s ultimatum that he and others remove themselves from VDM.

According to TalkTalk Nigeria, Paulo advised his associates, including Seun Kuti, who also works with VDM, to separate themselves from the controversial activist when he dragged his lover, actress Iyabo Ojo, by alleging she was not invited to Davido and Chioma's wedding but rather to the after-party.

Kuti responded in a video message uploaded on his Instagram account, saying Paulo cannot order him publicly.

"I have a wonderful connection with Paulo, but that does not give him the authority to order me publicly. Even if Paulo has assisted me, he cannot order me openly. If he had phoned me, I would most likely have terminated connections with VDM by now. "Because I am not sure how much the beef is worth to him," he explained.

"So that's what I see in our relationship with ourselves in Nigeria." For me, VDM is an absolute must. VeryDarkMan is necessary. Because he can handle the personal. But I'm not sure how to. VeryDarkMan has the ability to unite the people against corrupt leaders. Those who embody the spirit of politicians. "Those politicians who use their celebrity to bully the powerless."

He continued, "Elders must earn respect."
