Strike: Charly Boy to organise rally to support labour

Maverick musician Charles Oputa, often known as Charly Boy, has announced plans to support the trade unions during their current strike.

According to TalkTalk Nigeria, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) went on indefinite strike on Monday to push the government to agree on a new minimum wage for workers and reconsider the increase in energy prices for select consumers.

However, labor unions achieved an agreement with the federal government on a new national minimum wage late Monday, implying that the strike could end shortly.

While the new minimum salary was not defined, all parties agreed that the federal government would commit to a higher value than the present N60,000.

Charly Boy responded on Tuesday morning, saying he would gather 90% of Nigeria's power bikers for a demonstration in Abuja in favor of labour unions if they did not stop the strike by next week.

On his X alias, he posted in Pidgin: "If NLC do not f**k up and cancel this strike before next week. I'm going to mobilize 90% of Nigerian Power Bikers. We will storm Abuja if heaven falls or the devil lands. We will reply, "Bring it on."

I just don't tire. "Yeye smell."
