Rema was paid $3 million to play at Indian billionaire Ambani’s son’s wedding.
Rema, a Nigerian afrobeats megastar, has come in India to sing for the wedding of Asia's richest man, Mukesh Ambani's son, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of pharmaceutical tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.
On Instagram Thursday night, the 'Calm Down' singer shared a video of himself strolling towards a private chartered plane dressed all in black. He used 'Azaman' from his recently released sophomore album, 'He Is,' as background music and included an emoji of an Indian tricolour.
According to Hindustan Times, Rema would charge $3 million to sing his global hit song 'Calm Down' at the event.
According to estimates, Canadian musician Justin Bieber received $10 million for his performance at the event.
Rihanna, a pop singer, also performed at the event for an unknown amount.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will marry on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC), Mumbai.
The four-day wedding extravaganza in Mumbai is the culmination of the family's succession of opulent celebrations since March.
The wedding will be attended by Kim Kardashian, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, among others.
